Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance for faculty and administrative professional staff

As a Colorado Higher Education Insurance Benefits Alliance (CHEIBA) member, Fort Lewis College collaborates with seven other Colorado institutions to provide exceptional employee benefits. This partnership ensures access to competitive plans while lowering costs through shared experience ratings.

  • Benefits-eligible faculty and administrative professional staff (.5 FTE and above) qualify for benefits starting on their first day of employment.
  • Open enrollment occurs every November, with changes effective January 1 of the following year.

Faculty and administrative professional staff must enroll in CHEIBA’s group health and dental insurance plans and automatically enroll in group term life insurance and long-term disability coverage.

  • Medical coverage can only be waived with proof of other group medical insurance.
  • There is an optional life insurance buy-up for employees' spouses and children.
