Set Up Your Network Account

Network Account Activation

Your network account credentials will be used to log in to your workstation, Microsoft resources, Workday, and any website pages or software that require completing a CAS login screen.

*To activate your network account, visit the account management page at and click on the Activate Your Account link. You will use this link to learn your username and also set your initial password.

Creating a passphrase that is easy for you to remember is the best practice for a strong password.

Remember, passwords must be at least eight characters in length and contain three of the following four items:

  • upper case letter
  • lower case letter
  • number
  • special character (spaces are allowable)

Fort Lewis College IT personnel will never ask for your password! Please keep your password private and do not share it with anyone! 

Student Accounts

When you are admitted, a network account is created for you. To activate your account, follow the Network Account Activation process above. Your FLC ID can be found in your acceptance letter.

Faculty and Staff Accounts

Employee accounts are created automatically when Human Resources onboarding is complete. To activate your account follow the Network Account Activation process above.

Temporary accounts

All other temporary accounts are requested via an electronic form. All accounts must be requested by a supervisor or VP.

Important: A Banner ID is required.

Authorized Volunteer accounts

Authorized volunteer network accounts have the option to include a Fort Lewis email address as a provided resource. If you need to request an account for an authorized volunteer, please follow these steps and review the authorized volunteer guidelines:

  1. Authorized Volunteer completes authorized volunteer form and uploads this to the
  2. Supervisor should email humres@fortlewis.edu with the authorized volunteers first name, last name and valid email address.
  3. Authorized volunteer will complete onboarding app and background check.
  4. Once both are complete, IT & HR work together to finalize the creation of the FLC account, FLC email address and FLC username.
  5. Instructions on how to activate that account will be emailed directly to the authorized volunteer.

Network Storage

You have 10GB of storage space on the FLC server as part of your network account.

  • When logging into the FLC network from any computer on campus, your M: drive is automatically mapped for you.
  • Departments often also have an O: drive that contains files specific to their team. These network shares are regularly backed up.
  • Students, Faculty, and Staff can access their M: drive and the O: drive from off campus by going to .
