More than 50 students and their families attended this year's Native American College Day. This year, the College offered free lodging for the event to students and their families, thanks in part to the $63,000 gift from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians based in southern California.

More than 80 middle and high schoolers from all over the region —including Dolores, Ignacio, and Dove Creek — gathered at FLC on February 20 to compete in the fair.

Students earn a bachelor’s degree in Adventure Education, the FLC Snow & Avalanche Studies certificate, and four of the industry’s most widely recognized certifications from the American Institute for Avalanche Research & Education.

The accreditation allows qualifying students to access all FLC Student Health Center services at no out-of-pocket cost to them.
